The Unoffical Guide to the Disneyland Resort

New Orleans Square

If you have ever wanted to travel to the French Quarter in New Orleans then all you have to do is go to the "Happiest Place on Earth." New Orleans is based off of the French Quarter but with a few things you won't see in Louisiana. Such as the world famous Pirates of the Caribbean where you travel through caverns, fight in a battle and sing along with the pirate crew. Or you may want a little scare in which you will want to see Disney's Haunted Mansion. Travel through the side streets and see one of the most popular areas in the world Disney style.

Guide to New Orleans Square

New Orleans Square is a very crowded land containing two of Disneyland's most famous attractions and an extreamly popular show. From the time the park opens to the time the park closes, this land is very crowded. There are two levels to the land, a show level and a ride level. The show level is normally the less crowded way to get around the land if you are just trying to get to or from Critter Country. The more crowded level is the ride level. This level is the enterance to the two attractions and is the main path for New Orleans Square. Depending on your destination we recommend using the show level during the day. If Fantasmic is playing  do not use the show level after 7:00 as the show level is turned into the seating area for Fantasmic and hold 10,000 people. Also if Fantasmic is playing and you are not seeing the show (but you should) AVOID NEW ORLEANS SQUARE AT ALL COSTS BETWEEN 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. It will be a nightmare! If you must go through New Orleans Square take the train and hug the edge of the walkways to your destination. Food in New Orleans Square is good but expensive especially at the Blue Bayou Resturant which charges 50.00 plus for a meal. The resturant also recommends reservations.
